About
The Volvo 850 is a mid-size car produced by the Swedish manufacturer Volvo from 1991 to 1997. It was available as a sedan or a wagon and was known for its safety features, including the introduction of side-impact airbags. The 850 was also the first front-wheel drive car from Volvo to be sold in North America. It was powered by a range of inline-five engines and was offered with a manual or automatic transmission. The car was replaced by the Volvo S70 and V70 models in 1998.
