About
Asia Motors was a South Korean automobile manufacturer that operated from 1965 to 1999. The company was established as Asia Motors Co., Ltd. and was a subsidiary of the South Korean conglomerate Kia Motors Corporation. Asia Motors initially focused on producing light commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans. They gained popularity in the South Korean market for their durable and practical vehicles, which were often used for commercial purposes. In 1998, Kia Motors acquired a majority stake in Asia Motors, leading to the integration of the two companies. As a result, Asia Motors' operations were gradually absorbed into Kia Motors, and the brand was eventually discontinued in 1999.
